Saudi Arabia Expands Hajj Flight Operations for 2026 Pilgrimage Season
Saudi Arabia has officially announced a major expansion in Hajj flight operations for the upcoming 2026 pilgrimage season as part of its broader aviation and tourism modernization strategy.
Authorities confirmed that additional international flight slots will be allocated at major airports including King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah to improve passenger flow during peak pilgrimage weeks.
Several airlines from India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and African countries are expected to increase direct Hajj services to Saudi Arabia. Aviation officials say the expansion will help reduce congestion while improving the overall pilgrimage travel experience.
Saudi Arabia is also accelerating airport infrastructure upgrades under Vision 2030, focusing on digital immigration systems, smart baggage handling and faster transit services for pilgrims arriving from around the world.
Industry analysts believe the expansion reflects Saudi Arabia’s long-term ambition to position itself as one of the world’s leading religious tourism and aviation hubs.
